There’s nothing we love more than announcing the launch of one of our clients’ new brands, and today is no exception! We’re so excited to share the details of all that we created for Chic Celebrations, a fabulous event design and production agency in one of our favorite markets: beautiful Southern California!

Chic Celebrations and its owner, Gianna SanFilippo , specialize in addressing creative challenges and creating exquisitely executed events. Their eye for design, ability to transform blank spaces into unforgettable settings, and their strategic approach to managing the event itself, definitely set them apart from other event planners. Chic Celebrations offers a variety of services, from comprehensive, full-service or partial wedding planning to the complete coordination of social and corporate events. Gianna’s unique vision, positive energy and attention to detail truly shine through in her work, so we were especially eager to help her showcase it in the work we created for her!

Throughout the time we were working with Gianna, what really stood out to us was her concierge-style approach to working with her clients. Gianna will completely customize a package for her wedding couples, and truly goes above and beyond in fulfilling any detail – large or small – that they request. Also, Gianna’s artistic style is one of the most impressive we’ve ever seen, and you know we’ve seen a lot!

Something else notable about Gianna is her natural and organic style, something we wanted her branding to reflect perfectly. It was important to us to convey not only how she’s inspired by nature, but also her fun and chic side – her website mentions her “jeans, signature messy bun and oversized handbag,” which is so authentically Gianna! The brand identity we created incorporated a logo infused with a watercolor background and lush greenery, paired with design elements in a bold black-and-white stripe to punch up the personality factor.

Ultimately, we created a complete brand, responsive website and gorgeous stationery for Chic Celebrations, and we’re really proud of the result. We’re thrilled not only to include this fantastic project in our portfolio, but also to have developed a wonderful relationship with Gianna. Working with our amazing, dreamy clients is, by far, the best part of what we do!

How to Find a Branding Agency You’ll Fall in Love With

You’ve decided you’re ready to transform your business with a beautiful brand (or rebrand) and you’ve budgeted for the investment. The next step is finding an agency you adore. Truth be told, there are tons of branding agencies out there – and with the vast majority available to work virtually, the possibilities are endless.

Here are six questions to ask yourself when you’re considering hiring a branding agency.

Do you love their work? Reviewing an agency’s portfolio is a logical first step, as you obviously need to find their work swoon-worthy! Does their portfolio align with the type of brand identity, logo, website and blog you want to create? Look also for diversity in their portfolio: a strong agency will have a variety of work that aligns with their various clients’ needs and tastes. While every designer tends to have a style, I do think it’s important to see varying aesthetics represented – soft, modern, traditional. If you aren’t sure whether an agency can accommodate you, ask! Some designers are eager to switch things up and be challenged.

Do they handle their own development? Nothing can bog down a project more quickly than having to outsource web development. Absolutely there are some wonderful developers out there; however, in our experience, nothing beats having someone in-house to handle quality control, questions and customer support.

Are their clients raving about their work? A great agency should have testimonials on their website. Be sure to double-check those testimonials by clicking through to their clients’ sites so that you can review the work firsthand.

Are they active on social media? I hate to say it but there are some not-so-nice people out there. One way to gauge how much a company cares about its clients is by checking out its social media accounts. Do their clients like and comment on their posts? Does the company take time to interact with its fans and followers? That’s a pretty good sign that they are passionate about their business (and their clients!) and that others believe in what they’re doing.

Do you feel comfortable with their process? A professional agency will always emphasize contracts, deposits, project timelines and response times. If the company you’re considering is slow to answer questions and doesn’t want to secure your working relationship with a contract and deposit, you could end out losing in the end.

Did you feel comfortable when you spoke on the phone or Skype? Personality is an important factor as well. You’re going to be working closely with this person for the next few months. It should be someone you actually look forward to communicating with, and whom you feel understands your work and your approach.

Taking time for this kind of due diligence will help you identify a branding agency who not only will create a brand you love, but will make the process a pleasure from beginning to end. Serving weddings, parties and corporate events in Los Cabos, Mexico, Amy Abbott and her team promise distinctive, meticulously designed celebrations with impeccable attention to detail. Clearly our kind of people – so you can imagine our excitement when they approached us for branding!

The Client:

Amy Abbott Weddings & Events came to Ashley & Malone in need a complete update of their brand and website. With Los Cabos’ popularity soaring as a wedding and event destination, Amy realized it was time to level up her branding to represent who they truly were as a company: a luxury full-service design and event planning business.

The Process:

I was inspired by Amy’s passion for her work, as well as the potential for creating a truly breathtaking brand identity for her company, from our first conversation. That inspiration allowed us to craft a brand identity that not only reflected Amy’s vibrant personality, but one that would attract her dream client.

The colors of the ocean, sand and coral were a centerpiece for our brand design, as well as the authentic Mexican tile that seen throughout Cabo. I wanted Amy’s brand to exude “destination” and really draw the type of couple that didn’t just want a typical resort wedding. Rather, we were seeking to reach couples that wanted a thoughtful, personal event, in a beautiful destination. An event that included all of the design details and amenities they could expect if they were in their home city. That’s exactly what Amy Abbott delivers, and delivers flawlessly.
